Like Ras-I Alujah “Livingstone” Bramble before her, this inductee was destined for funny-named greatness. Her grandfather (who we will refer to as “Pops Echikunwoke”) was the tribal leader of the Nigerian Igbo tribe, and Echikunwoke means “leader of men.”
While “Pops” may have literally led men, his lovely granddaughter – actress and model Megalyn, probably leads men in a more figurative sense. But before her parents could prepare her for recurring or starring roles on Spyder Games, 24, That 70′s Show, and CSI: Miami, they had to first address an age-old question.
What middle name ought one bestow upon a child with the name “Megalyn Echikunwoke”?

We're not sure how many trees she has killed by adding "Megalyn" to all of the baby names books, but we're willing to suggest it was worth it.
Their answer: Ann. As in Megalyn Ann Echikunwoke. We’ll leave it to you to figure out which of her parents – a Nigerian-Igbo father and a German/Scots-Irish American mother – was responsible for each of those names.
In any case, the name worked, and the lovely Megalyn has compiled a long list of TV and film credits at the young age of 28.
Her picture is awesome! Great idea for a blog topic!
Thank you! I’m not sure why it has taken me two and a half months to reply to this comment, but I do appreciate it!
