Ever Gabo Jovovich-Anderson

Today’s featured funny named personality breaks Izzy Skenazy‘s record as the youngest inductee into the Funny Names Hall of Fame.

To make it onto this blog at such a young age, you have to do something quite remarkable, like kill a ton of zombies with somersault kicks.

… and the fact that Ever Gabo has already started to imitate her mother has given her a very high valuation rating in the awesomeness futures market, which sounds like something I’d love to invest in.

It’s a well-established fact – at least according to me – that Milla Jovovich is one of the most awesome celebrities on the planet. Just a small sampling of reasons why:

  • She has a lucrative film career as the “reigning queen of kick-butt” who does most of her own stunts
  • She also has a surprisingly well-regarded musical career (which includes a Ukrainian folk album, tons of free demo songs that are actually quite good, and collaborations with The Crystal Method, Maynard James Keenan of Tool, and Deepak Chopra… yes, that Deepak Chopra)
  • She is fluent in three languages, and can speak parts of several others
  • She’s subject to frequent bouts of zany awesomeness, such as trying to come up with a gang sign for Prince Charles while discussing the honor of swordfighting, macrobiotic dieting, and a comparison of Russian and Latin-American literature (and those are just the topics she covered in one Craig Ferguson interview)
  • She’s also a very smart cookie – her father was a physician back in Serbia, and she frequently posts links to thought-provoking videos and articles on her Twitter account
  • She named her daughter (whose father is action movie director Paul W.S. Anderson) Ever Gabo

Also rarely seen: rabbit-eating zombie killers!

So while we generally shy away from celebrity baby names, which sometimes feel like nothing but a publicity stunt, we feel obligated to give our newest record-setter a well-deserved spot in the Funny Names Hall of Fame. Plus, she kind of deserves it… you don’t find many four year olds with an entire Tumblr devoted to them.

Congratulations Ever Gabo! This gives you something extra cool to tell the tooth fairy!

Wheeeeeee!

  1. She is obviously way too talented with a way too cool name. I hate her.

Hating a four year old, Becky… classy!

Don’t be one of those self-effacing Brits – you’ve got plenty of talents, like drawing hilarious pictures and looking at duck statues.

That said, Becky Gabo Whatever-your-last-name-is would be a slightly cooler name and would give you even more magical powers, so I understand some of the envy.

      • It’s Mayhew – Becky Gabo Mayhew. God that sounds cool. Glad you like my silly little pictures. I’m certainly enjoying your superb names.

        • Dave says:

Becky Gabo Mayhew, your blog is positively delightful. It’s quite possibly the blog that makes me actually laugh out loud more than any other blog on the internet that I’m reading these days. Rachel Lucas used to hold that distinction, but she went all weird lately, and I think you might take the cake. You have a unique voice and your drawings are cool and funny.

Psst… don’t tell anyone else I said that… don’t want to seem like I’m playing favorites.

          • Oh wow, thank you! That’s really amazing, thanks dude. And I won’t tell anyone. And I love your funny names. And I your blog. And thanks again 🙂

The kid’s name shines, but I love anyone whom Craig Ferguson chooses to interview. He’s the world’s best and most intelligent interviewer in the world. Yes I said that. Craig Ferguson trips up my tongue. Hmmmm….

You won’t find many bigger fans of Craig Ferguson than us here at the Funny Names Blog. For someone with such an average name he’s a pretty marvelous person. I even read both of his books, so impressed was I with his interviewing skills and high-brow skits featuring him as Aquaman.

The birth of Dashiel Enod yesterday brought me back to this post about Dashiel’s sister Ever! I miss CraigyFerg so much!

I hope he’s doing something that will get back to his loved and loving audience! I also wish I could find just one funny name besides my former therapist, who is only slightly known for a home she owned, or something. I don’t remember. Her name boggles my mind so that I can’t think of anything else. I think I’m gonna do another web search for her. How famous do people have to be, anyway?
