Idrissa Akuna “Idris” Elba

Hello, kittens.

Sorry, that’s it. That’s the sum total of the flirting you’re getting from me this week. As I can’t possibly compete with Rob’s mustachioed missive from last Wednesday, and as I am exactly seventeen and a half hours from leaving on a week-long vacation, I’ve decided to keep it low key in the blogsphere today. Calm and collected, even.

Well, calm and collected for me, anyway.

Which means that before I go pack my carry-on bag, I just have to tell you that I really, really, really love Idris Elba !!! Like, a lot. He’s hanging out at movie theatres near you right now in “Thor 2: The Dark World”, but I’ve really, really, really, loved him since long before then.

He’s the star of “Luther”, one of My Favourite Television Shows You’ve Never Heard Of, and his acting in it is extraordinary. He’s absolutely, terrifyingly, wonderful.

Click through to his Wikipedia page below to learn more. And try to convince Rob to be nicer to me while I’m away, would you? Thanks, kittens.

Idris Elba

You see it, right? The terrifying wonderfulness? I mean, seriously. Dude.

Haha, I don’t know why that comment made me laugh so much, but it really did.

      • Liz says:

because I don’t usually meow? because you’re punch-drunk tired? (though you mention getting to bed earlier than amb) No matter the reason, glad you got a laugh out of it. Davember is all about laughter.

Not sure if you caught Diddy’s final response to my post yesterday, but I read it just as I was leaving my driveway and had to pull over and laugh a good couple minutes before I could safely drive away. Seems there are some good one-liners floating around in that aether you like so much 😉 (maybe you’re laughing because you’ve inhaled too much aether)

        • Dave says:

Let’s just say it’s all of the above. Except I’m actually not tired. I’m well rested!

I’ll have to check out Diddy’s response. I’m preparing myself now… making sure there are no sharp objects around in case I collapse of laughter.

My favourite comment of the day !!!!

  1. Rio says:

    ooooooooooooooooooooh he’s nice.

  2. Arto says:

I always did like his name. It’s so unusual to make it memorable. I’m hoping he plays reformation leader Martin Luther in the program, I would definitely watch that.

    • Dave says:

      That’d be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome!

  3. Dave says:

Great post, Amb, but I’m wondering if we have indeed passed into a parallel universe. There was a day this week where I got to bed before you did. Now you’re in California, and not flirting with anyone in your blog post. And asking ROB to be NICE?!? Crazy! Something’s in the aether.

    • amb says:

Listen, babe, do not even get me started on the fact that I’m going to be in your state and don’t get to see you. Are we blaming the aether? Is that how we’re coping with this?!? 😉 I’m blaming your schedule. More early nights please, so that the next time I’m travelling you can get your act together and come up with some well rested meeting places for us!

  4. Bonnie says:

Oh, I see it. I see.

  5. Oh, Idris. He is indeed a beautiful man. I have loved him for many years. He’s quite the thing over here in Britainland. I was going to say something more profound, but I think I’ll just stare quietly into his eyes…

  6. wdydfae says:

Since Amb’s not actually here, I can scale back with the blurbs a little bit. Heck, she’ll never know!

    “. . . Good! . . .”

    “. . . Nice! . . .”

    “. . . Interesting! . . .”

    “. . . Neat! . . .”
