Well, that worked out awfully well, if I do say so myself.
It’s my first BoFN post of a brand new year, and I get to combine my twin loves of showbiz gossip and breakfast meats! (There’s a sentence I never thought I’d say. Thank you, Hollywood).
I was originally going to write about someone else today, but there’s been a change in plans. This opportunity is just too delicious to pass up.
Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce Sosie Bacon. The daughter of Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon, and recently crowned Miss Golden Globe 2014. Making her debut at last Sunday’s award ceremony, Sosie is adorable, and looks exactly like both her mom and her dad.
As always, click the picture to learn more about Ms. Bacon. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to track down some waffles and make this morning complete.
Mmmm. Baaaacon.
Right?!?
At first that statement “Sosie is adorable, and looks exactly like both her mom and her dad.” seemed off to me, but the more thought I gave it, the more I liked it. I totally see the Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon in her. Anyway, trying to get a few more mins of shut-eye before the interview, so I’ll check in later today! Have a good one!
“Off”?!? Please. Oh Dave, when will you learn – I always have a plan around here.
Such good luck today!
How do you know I wasn’t trying to use up all my stupid statements today before my interview? You’re not the only one with a plan around here 😉 😉
Yes! I was totally watching this, and thinking Sosie Bacon? That’s good! I never realized Kevin Bacon’s last name was Bacon! Like bacon Bacon. That’s just how good funny names can disguise themselves. Good catch Amb! Whoosh!
Wow, Arto! You’re a genius!
She’s so cute–and yes, how could she not be what with such pretty parents. But I bet she’s got plenty going on behind those bright eyes, too. Fun name–where would her parents have gotten “Sosie”? Curious about this Miss Golden Globes thing–is it like a beauty pageant? (thinking no) Did she have to be nominated? Who else was in the running?
Getting a kick out of Arto’s comment: “I never realized Kevin Bacon’s last name was Bacon!” Funny because I know exactly what he meant and I know you did too! here’s a tee and a hee 😀
My showbiz sources and I are happy to answer all of your most pressing questions, Liz! That’s why we’re here, after all. Ok, well, that and to eat bacon and waffles 🙂
Apparently Kevin worked with someone named “Sosie” on one of his early films. She wasn’t an actress, but someone behind the scenes – a costume designer, I think? Not sure how exactly she made such a lasting impression on Kev, but I like to think she was the one who gave him that awesome maroon suit/pink shirt/skinny tie combo in “Footloose”. Hey, a girl can dream!
As for being Miss Golden Globe, I actually know the answer to this one! I was reading the Vulture website on my lunchbreak and they explained it all to me. I swear, sometimes I think those Vulture writers have a direct line to my brain. Here’s a quote: “The basic facts: Miss/Mr. Golden Globe is always the child of a celebrity, and he or she stands to the side of the stage during the ceremony. There is usually a brief introduction by the parents, but then Miss Golden Globe disappears again.” Here’s the link, because, why not? http://www.vulture.com/2014/01/ask-a-miss-golden-globe-what-was-that-like.html
nice work, amb–thanks! Fun link to read. This was my “something new” for the day 🙂
bacon, bacon, bacon!
mmmmmm….bacon!
Exactly.
Bacon, bacon, bacon. You just can’t say that too much. 🙂
You really can’t 😀
