So Dave and I do this thing where we write comments on each other’s Blog of Funny Names posts before they’re published.* It feels a lot like passing notes in homeroom, but with more puns and a bigger vocabulary. It’s adorable, in an unabashedly nerdy sort of way. Honestly, the man makes me regress to my so-totally-super-mature-high-school-self on a regular basis.
Today we’re so totally talking about my super cool new Imaginary Boyfriend.
Everyone, meet Cary Joji Fukunaga.
Cary is a 36 year old film and television director who enjoys creating stark, windswept adaptations of romantic Gothic literature starring Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska, and truly haunting slices of Southern America populated by characters with names like Rust Cohle.
* In my notes for today’s post, I indicated this would be my new favourite piece that I’ve written to date. Dr. McDreamy over there called that a “bold proclamation” – obviously, he underestimated how deeply I would be impacted by the, erm, research that was required for this post.
